First Citizenship Ceremony Aboard the USS Ronald Reagan
On Tuesday, August 22, 86 members of the U.S. Armed Forces became U.S. citizens in the first naturalization ceremony held aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, which has just returned from its first deployment.
It’s been a summer of firsts for the USS Ronald Reagan. Last month, it returned from its maiden deployment, and Tuesday, it hosted its first-ever citizenship ceremony.
United States Marines and Sailors were sworn in as U.S. citizens on board the ship Tuesday.
USCIS Director Emilio T. Gonzalez authored a commentary published by the San Diego Union-Tribune commemorating the heroism of members of our Armed Forces, who are becoming naturalized citizens.
